The Parkinson’s Resource Centre is no longer in operation as of December 31, 2021.
As with many charitable organizations, COVID-19 had a major impact on our operations. Our last Parkinson’s Resource Centre (PRC) in-person programs and events were delivered in early March 2020. While we continued to operate minimally as an informal information resource for those newly diagnosed, over time it became clear that we would be unable to fulfill our mandate of providing in-person programs, services, and supports to individuals and families living with Parkinson’s disease. Unfortunately, and largely due to COVID-19 impact, the Parkinson's Resource Centre is no longer in operation as of December 31, 2021.
Thank you for your support and your participation in the programs offered by the PRC since we began operations in 2016. It has been our honour and pleasure to meet and work with so many wonderful individuals and to collaborate with other Parkinson’s organizations and health and wellness professionals in the community dedicated to helping people with Parkinson’s disease and their families live well every day.
As of December 31, 2021, the PRC is ceasing operations. We are dissolving the Parkinson’s Resource Centre as a charitable organization (Charitable Registration number: 783660525 RR0001) and discontinuing receipt of donations and financial support. Tax receipts for any donations provided during 2021 will be issued through either CanadaHelps or the Parkinson’s Resource Centre, depending on how donations were made.
Thank you all for your support over the years and for your understanding of the need to make this difficult decision.
